This site is the home of the personal genealogy database of John Hughes. This fully linked database is an on-going effort to document the ancestry of my family and others who are related by marriage. A very arduous task to be sure, but one that is fun and quite rewarding. It’s a work in progress - and probably always will be.

The purpose of this site is to share this work with family, friends and fellow genealogists for information and enjoyment. Please feel free to browse the site for the names and lineage of people to whom you may be related. However, to gain full access to the information regarding living individuals on this site you must register and be approved for access. Registration is easy and free.

Most of this information was obtained from federal census records, church records and cemetery records. It is simultaneously extensive, organized, incomplete and probably inaccurate in certain areas. Please help me to make this database as accurate as possible. Personal recollections, family bibles and other written records are invaluable in reconstructing our family tree.
